This 20-hour hands-on welding course is designed to expose students to the introductory principles of welding mild steel in the flat position. All students will be exposed to welding using Oxy Acetylene, M.I.G. and A.R.C welding processes. Students will be encouraged to participate in completing a hands-on project of their choice using the skills learned in class or continue to build on their skill set. Students are encouraged to bring their own welding gloves and welding helmet although they will be supplied if required.

SMALL ENGINE REPAIR – LEVEL II

This course is designed for the individual who wants to grasp more diagnostic skills of the electrical and carburetor systems in a small engine operation. The course builds on skills learned in the Small Engines Level One course. Items covered in the course will be carburetors, ignition and electrical systems. Students are to bring small engines not running to first day of class, and will need to bring some basic tools. A supply list will be e-mailed prior to class. Limited enrolment.

WELDING & MACHINING COMBO DY8

This 40-hour hands-on combined welding and machining course is designed to expose all level of students to the introductory skills of welding and machining metal. All students will be delivered welding and machining training along with the option to combine those skill sets. At the end of this course students will be able to perform various metal manufacturing techniques including welding using Oxy Acetylene, M.I.G., and A.R.C. welding processes with the ability to use various hand tools, safely operate a Mill, Lathe, Drill press, Pedestal Grinder and CNC Mill in the machining portion. Students are encouraged to bring their own welding gloves and welding helmet although they will be supplied if required. Lab fee of $120 payable to instructors on the first night. This is a $60 saving over the cost of individual registration fees for these courses.

RESIDENTIAL ELECTRICAL NEW !

This 50-hour course will introduce all the concepts of residential/house wiring from basic lighting and receptacles to wiring complete electrical panels. Students will get familiar with the Canadian Electrical Code while learning all the proper wiring methods and techniques to install and trouble shoot basic and intermediate residential electrical scenarios. Some of these concepts include electrical safety concerns, electrical circuitry, wiring standard electrical outlets, 20 amp t-slot receptacles, GFCI and AFCI requirements, smoke detectors, range and dryer receptacle requirements, main distribution panels and breakers. Strong emphasis is on proper procedures for allowing homeowners to wire devices in their own homes, including all insurance liabilities and safety concerns.

Please Note:

Participants will pay $100 lab fee for supplies to the instructor on the first night.

Students are encouraged to bring their own small engines to service them, and will need to bring some basic tools. A supply list will be e-mailed prior to class. Limited enrolment.

Students will also learn the hands on skills to solder, cement/glue, cut/ saw and crimp plumbing fittings and piping that pertains to residential plumbing.
