Spring Into Words: A Writer's Workshop
Calling all wordgazers, storyseekers and poemmakers: Join Winnipeg poet Jennifer Still for a 4-week spring writing intensive that will twig (and tulip) the imaginations of beginning and emerging writers alike. Through generative writing exercises, readings and group discussion, Jennifer will lead participants playfully, curiously and daringly toward what it is they are most bursting to say.
Jennifer Still's poetry has been widely published in journals and anthologies across Canada. Her latest collection, Girlwood (Brick Books 2011), won the 2008 John V. Hicks manuscript award. Poems from Girlwood were finalists in the 2008 CBC Literary Awards and Matrix LitPop Awards. Jennifer's debut collection, Saltations (Thistledown, 2005), was nominated for three Saskatchewan Book Awards and in 2008 Jennifer was awarded an Emerging Artist Award by the Saskatchewan Foundation. Co-founder of the award-winning chapbook publisher JackPine Press, Jennifer continues to investigate innovative, text-based collaborative projects, most recently with the publication of her limited-edition book project Nest (2010). Jennifer lives in Winnipeg with her husband and two children.
