CPR Level A and Emergency First Aid (EFA)
CPR, LEVEL A: Invest one evening: learn the skills to save a life! Learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of heart attack and stroke and techniques to respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for people aged 8 and over. Learn to use barrier device/pocket masks and an Automated External Defibrillator.
EFA Adult includes: preparing to respond, the EMS System, 'Check, Call, Care', airway emergencies, breathing & circulation emergencies and first aid for respiratory & cardiac arrest.
This Canadian Red Cross Course follows the new standards of 2010.
The Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians has stated in a declaration .,"It must become a moral obligation and a social expectation that bystanders will perform CPR when they witness cardiac arrest. The general population must come to understand that cardiac resuscitation is much more likely to be successful when CPR is started promptly..."
