Power Engineering 4th Class
This is a 100 hour class over 25 weeks. This year's class addresses Part B. It is possible to take Part B if you have not taken Part A. Part A will be offered in fall of 2013. Please call 204.789-0435 if you have any questions.
The 4th class Power Engineering class includes:
Basic electricity, steam turbines, types and their applications, gas turbines, refrigeration and air comptession, diesel engines, prime movers, pumps, duties of a power engineer, acts, regulations and codes, mathematics, mechanics I and II, thermodynamics, steam boiler types and construction, boiler parts and filttings, principle and application of various types of pumps, fittings, deaeraons, feed water heaters, etc, elementary principles of combution, combusion equipment, burners, draft fans, stokers, etc. and feed water, internal and external treatment.
The instructor does not require participants to have textbooks.
